Tenerife South Airport
Also known as Reina Sofía International Airport, it is located 60 km (37.5 miles) southwest of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and 10 minutes from the tourist towns of Los Cristianos and Playa de las Américas. Along with Tenerife North Airport, it is the busiest in air traffic in the Canary Islands and one of the busiest in Spain and operates with domestic and international flights to destinations within Europe and Israel. It has a bank, ATMs, currency exchange bureaus, post office, mobile phone service, internet kiosks and free Wi-Fi access. On the ground floor there are bars, cafes, fast food outlets, ice cream parlors and restaurants. There are also vending machines throughout the premises. Duty-free shops, newspapers and magazines, books, sweets, fashion and accessories, electronics, souvenirs, are located on levels 0 and 1. Various buses connect the South and North airports, as well as the most important beaches on the Island and the city center. Outside the arrival area there is the taxi service that applies extra charges for traveling during the night (from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am), Sundays and holidays. The journey to Centro takes 45 minutes.
