Also known as La Paloma for the architectural form of its terminal, it is the most important in the Basque Country and is located 12 km (8 miles) north of the Biscayan capital and operates with domestic flights and international destinations within Europe. Its terminal is open from 4:45 am to 9:30 pm in summer and from 5:45 am to 10:30 pm in winter. It has ATMs, a mailbox, plugs for electrical devices and free Wi-Fi access. Its VIP Lounge is located on the mezzanine floor of the terminal and is open from Monday to Friday between 5:30 am and 9:30 pm and weekends from 6:00 am to 9:30 pm, with a maximum stay of 4 hours. There are fast food outlets and coffee shops on level 3 and 1, as well as duty-free items and a convenience store in the boarding area, as well as regional food, clothing and accessories, newspapers, sweets and gifts. The means of transport available at the airport are buses and taxis that are in the arrival area. Taxis charge extra charges for trips on weekends, holidays and at night, and the journey to the center takes about 15 minutes.
